Can You Redeem Codes in Pokémon TCG Pocket?

Many card game turned mobile games offer some promo codes for physical players. So, can you redeem codes for freebies in Pokémon TCG Pocket?

At the moment, Pokémon TCG Pocket doesn’t support promo codes, so players can’t use them to claim free packs, promo cards, or other bonuses in the way Pokémon TCG Live does. Traditionally, Pokémon TCG Live allows players to enter codes from physical packs for in-game rewards.

However, Pokémon TCG Pocket has taken a different approach. Likely to focus on an in-app progression experience without crossover from physical purchases.

Alternatives to Codes in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Though code support isn’t part of the Pokémon TCG Pocket experience yet, this doesn’t mean that freebies are off the table entirely. Many digital TCGs, including Magic: The Gathering Arena and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel feature free packs, card sleeves, or other rewards to players. Often as part of event promotions, holiday giveaways, or post-maintenance compensation. As Pokémon TCG Pocket grows and expands, similar opportunities for free packs or cards may be available.

Another way the game engages players without codes is by focusing on progression-based rewards and premium options. The Premium Pass allows players to access additional daily booster packs and exclusive missions that yield in-game rewards. This encourages players to engage with the app regularly and supports a different reward structure than other TCG titles using promo codes.

Though there’s no official news on whether codes might appear in Pokémon TCG Pocket down the line, it’s worth keeping an eye on the app’s announcements and updates. If codes are eventually implemented, players could have another way to unlock exclusive rewards or boost their collections. In the meantime, players can enjoy the current system of rewards and special features, like the Premium Pass, while waiting for any new developments.

So while Pokémon TCG Pocket currently lacks promo codes, there are still plenty of ways to grow your collection. And who knows—free packs or rewards could be just around the corner!
