More specifically, you are able to play as Zack Fair during certain moments of the story in FFVII Rebirth. In fact, he is the first character players take the role of in the game right from the very start. He has his own interstitial moments throughout the chapters where you take on his character for a period of time.

However, if these moments are not enough for you, be sure to beat the main story. After rolling credits, you can play as Zack some more if you complete all of the Protorelic World Intel quests throughout the various regions. Then, enter Chadley’s combat simulator and you’ll be able to fight as Zack in his own unique battle challenges. This is one of the best ways to check out his unique combat style, which is a bit different from Cloud’s.
