Siliconera reader and super tipster, Denpa no Sekai, recently got to attend an event held by 5pb. Games in Tokyo, where the publisher showcased upcoming Xbox 360 titles, Bullet Soul (a vertical shoot-em-up) and Phantom Breaker (a 2D fighter). You can read his impressions of the event at his weblog.
Embedded above is a recent promotional video for Bullet Soul. Denpa reports on his site that 5pb. developed Bullet Soul as an homage to Super Star Soldier. Similar to Hudson’s promotions for Star Soldier, 5pb. will be travelling across Japan to track down the best Bullet Soul player they can find.
Bullet Soul comes with three ships/characters, and supports an offline two-player mode. At their event, 5pb. hinted at releasing a demo for the game this March for fans to try. Additionally, as Denpa learnt, 5pb. are also considering releasing the retail game on a region-free disc, which would be a pleasant surprise for import shoot-em-up fans, should things go as planned.
Impressions of both Bullet Soul and Phantom Breaker can be found on the Denpa no Sekai weblog post that covers the 5pb. event in detail.
