Browser games are still going strong in Japan, and Amazon want to be a part of that market. Amazon.co.jp recently opened the “Amazon Free Online Games Store,” a platform where players can log in to games using their Amazon accounts, and use them to purchase in-game items. Game Watch shares more details on this intitiative.
So far, the new Amazon store has two of Capcom’s more popular F2P titles—Onimusha Soul, which recently saw collaborations with Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter; along with Hundred Years’ War: Euro Historia, a strategic role-playing game featuring music by Chrono Trigger composer.
Here’s the full lineup:
- Hundred Years’ War: Euro Historia (Capcom)
- Onimusha Soul (Capcom)
- Logres of Sword and Magic (Marvelous AQL
- Browser Pro Yakyuu NEXT (Marvelous AQL)
- Wizardry Online (Gamepot)
- Megami Engage! (G-Mode)
At the moment, Amazon only offer compatibility with the above six titles, but they plan on increasing the number of titles to their free online games store in the near future.
