While we’ve only seen a bit of Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, an upcoming 3DS fighter by Arc System Works, the Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation showed off more with the game’s new introduction trailer.
The video starts out with a look at all different kinds of match-ups between characters throughout the entire Dragon Ball universe. While the game boasts over 100 characters total, there will only be over 20 that will be playable.
Each character will have their unique features and playstyles, but what will give players more of a customized feeling will be the many assist characters that you see, starting at the 1:16 mark of the video.
The characters all have their own costs, and you’ll get to put together a team of up to five characters, for your own team. For example, the 1:44 mark shows us a fun match-up between the Son family led by Goku and team Capsule Corporation featuring the likes of Vegeta and Trunks.
You can also have a dream team full of Namekians or a one that’s full of father characters like Bardock, Vegeta, and Mr. Satan, or a child’s party consisting of Gotenks, Cell Jr., and Gohan.
The 2:14 mark of the video shows some interaction between characters, like Frieza telling “Mr. Cell” to go easy on him, or Gohan sounding a little confused going up against himself as an adult, while the older Gohan looks back in nostalgia at his younger self.
Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will release in Japan on June 11, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
