Thanks to the Wii’s virtual console Bonk has come out of the video game mascot retirement home and his shadow is in the limelight. However Bonk is still an obscure character, fueled by nostalgia. This makes the entry over at GoNintendo about a possible new Bonk game on the Wii stand out. A value priced Wii game with the name Bonk popped up in the computer system of Hollywood Video. This could be a place holder for Hudson’s Bonk series, an unrelated game or it might not even exist.
I’m inclined to believe it is real because Hudson released Hudson Selection Vol. 3: PC Genjin (Bonk’s Japanese name) on the Gamecube. It is a remake of the first Bonk game with better enhanced graphics and a few fan extras like Japanese TV ads. Since the Wii and Gamecube share similar technology it would be easy for Hudson to port the game.
