In case you missed it, Hudson announced Bomberman 3DS for the Nintendo 3DS last month. At the time, they wouldn’t say just what the game was all about, but now, we have a few more details to give us an idea.
Bomberman 3DS sees the return of a singleplayer adventure mode. The game takes place in Central City and sees you trying to free the city from the renegade robot corps. The singleplayer adventure will have bombs unique to it, which you’ll require to solve puzzles and defeat enemies with.
You can play Bomberman 3DS’ singleplayer mode either solo or in two-player co-op, locally with a friend. However, Hudson emphasize that the real multiplayer experience is online. Local battles can be played with up to 4 players, but connecting online increases this number to 8 players.
The multiplayer mode features something called a “Life System,” which allows you to extend your life on the battlefield. While details on this feature are scarce, Hudson say it allows for a handicap for new players.
Bomberman 3DS doesn’t have a release date yet, but Hudon had plans for a Fall 2011 release back when they first announced it.
