More details about the Blue Reflection Ray anime are here. Koei Tecmo revealed people in Japan can start watching it on April 9, 2021. The new video shared the first episode’s air date and a sample of the EXiNA theme song, “Divine.” However, it also provided an additional detail at the end. We know at least one heroine will be a magical girl known as a Reflector.
In the second half of the anime teaser, we see one of the two Blue Reflection Ray heroines, Hiori and Ruka, transform into a Reflector. After a ring appears at the seven second mark, Hiori transforms from her ordinary self to her magical girl attire.
In the original Blue Reflection, Hinako becomes a Reflector after meeting a pair of twins named Lime and Yuzuki and getting a special ring. She would use this power to help her classmates by heading into another world to deal with emotion fragments that could be ruining their lives. However, she also sometimes had to fight special monsters in the real-world while her classmates supported her.
Here’s the new Blue Reflection Ray trailer.
To compare, here’s what Hinako’s Sailor Moon-like transformation looked like in Blue Reflection.
The Blue Reflection Ray anime series will begin airing in Japan on April 9, 2021. Streaming sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation haven’t announced if they will offer it yet. The original Blue Reflection game is available on the PlayStation 4 and PC worldwide and PlayStation Vita in Japan.
