Blue Protocol, Bandai Namco’s upcoming online action-RPG, got an updated release date window during its November 15, 2022. The new launch window for it is early Spring 2023. This seems to only apply to Japan. However, the presentation also noted Blue Protocol will appear at TGA 2022. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
This means more details about a potential worldwide release are on the way. When games show up at The Game Awards, they are always geared toward a worldwide audience. The presentation also confirmed this will involve news for people overseas. However, it didn’t mention any details about when.
A new trailer also appeared following the event, which you can see below:
Since announcing the game, there have been periods when very little Blue Protocol details appeared. For example, regular updates appeared throughout 2020. However, in 2021 things tapered off. We only learned about the Heavy Smasher class and that L’arc en Ciel’s “Mirai” would be used for the opening movie.
Blue Protocol is in development for PCs and its new release date will fall in 2023 in Japan. It is unknown if it will eventually appear on other platforms as well. People will get to see more of it at The Game Awards on December 8, 2022.
