Rabi Laby publisher, Agetec, are bringing two Japanese Nintendo eShop games for 3DS over to North America—Bloody Vampire (above) and Witch’s Cat. Both games are slated for release this week on January 31st.

Bloody Vampire sounds a little bit like Castlevania in its premise. It’s about Latis—a half-vampire—and Cereza, who set out to an ancient castle named Verulia to discover why a vampire is invading the human world. Agetec have provided a surprisingly lengthy story summary in English if you’re interested in reading.

Latis controls four elements—Fire attacks in a straight line. Ice is for rapid-fire and also serves as a shield. Lightning moves in a spiral and can be charged further with the Thor Gauntlet item. Finally, Dark magic summons meteors to attack diagonally and can be used to remove obstacles as well. Latis can also transform into bat and wolf forms to reach inaccessible areas or fight enemies.

Agetec also say Bloody Vampire has a “significant sidequest” but don’t specify what it is. No price has been announced for the game yet.

Meanwhile, Witch’s Cat is a spin-off of the Rabi Laby series. After Alice and Rabi get captured by the Queen in Wonderland, Alicia, a cat-turned-human, helps Alice escape. She then ends up wanting to turn human so she can be friends with Alice and needs to escape Wonderland with the help of a witch named Dubois.

Witch’s Cat lets you transform between human and cat forms and use different kinds of magic to clear stages. Again, Agetec seem keen to push the game and have provided a pretty detailed story summary here.

Both Bloody Vampire and Witch’s Cat were released in Japan by SilverStar Japan. SilverStar are also behind the Rabi Laby series, 3D Air Hockey and The Phantom Thief Stina and 30 Jewels, all of which Agetec have released in North America. It looks like Agetec plan to bring most of SilverStar’s catalogue over, just like they did on DSiWare. What they’re missing so far is Rabi Laby 3, which was released in Japan last year.
