The next Pokemon Unite character will be a familiar starter–Blastoise. The character will show up in the game starting on September 1, 2021. The Pokemon’s role hasn’t been announced yet, but the teaser trailer suggested Hydro Typhoon and Surf will be in their moveset.
Here’s some footage showing Blastoise in action.

Blastoise is one of three new characters coming to Pokemon Unite. The other two were announced during the August 2021 Pokemon Presents. Sometime in the near future, people will be able to play as Sylveon and Mamoswine too.
In addition, there’s another Pokemon Unite mobile preregistration update, and it means a free Pikachu license for everyone. This means two out of the three possible rewards will be available when the game comes to Android and Apple iOS devices. The first reward involved 1,000 free Aeos Tickets.
We just reached a new pre-register reward milestone, surpassing over 2.5 million pre-registrations! The Pikachu Unite license has been unlocked!
Keep at it, Trainers! We're most of the way there!
