Black Myth: Wukong Steam Charts Player Count Pass 2 Million

Following its August 19, 2024 launch, Black Myth: Wukong hit the number one top sellers spot on Steam both locally and globally, and its player count on the Steam charts passed two million people according to SteamDB. Since launch, the figures have only gone up and not dipped.

As of 9:10am ET on August 20, 2024, the 24-hour peak player count for Black Myth: Wukong was 2,138,142 according to the Steam charts. On Steam proper, the game had over 755,500 followers in the store and over 72,800 positive reviews. The SteamDB Twitch stats also noted its 24-hour Twitch peak was over 290,900 viewers. 

On Steam proper, Black Myth: Wukong quickly climbed the top sellers charts regardless of the options. It passed other recent  staples, such as The First Descendant, FFXIV, Madden 25, and the Steam Deck. It also topped the New & Trending section’s Popular New Releases section, with both it and its Deluxe Edition Upgrade taking the top two spots.

Both Metacritic and OpenCritic noted a positive reception to the title. The average Metascore review for all of the ones that have come in so far is 82. On OpenCritic, it has an 80 average and 70% of reviewers recommended it.
