Tycoon Games’ latest release is something you don’t see much of — a western visual novel. Titled Bionic Heart, it takes place in a sci-fi London in the year 2099. Tycoon are pitching this as a blend of romance and comedy. The art is a blend of anime and western features. It looks OK, but the girls aren’t quite what you’d expect.
The game covers all the bases you’d expect a visual novel to: making decisions that affect the story, different women to meet, four hours worth of voice-acted sequences, and 24 endings. The nice thing is that, like all of Tycoon’s games, this one supports PC, Mac and Linux.
Judging by its title screen and dialogue , there’s bound to be a healthy portion of sci-fi-esque conspiracy in the game. Take a look at Bionic Heart’s version of an aged Batou. Clearly, Section 9 didn’t do him much good. That’s some nose job, too.
For people that aren’t familiar with Tycoon’s other work, you can head over to their official site to take a look at some of their other visual novels. There’s demos of each on the site for anyone who’s interested, too.
