Best Weapons For Your The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered No Return Runs

One of the most important aspects of surviving in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, regardless of mode, is which weapon you’re using. Let’s take a look at some of the best weapons in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered No Return mode.

Best weapons to use during general encounters in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered No Return

First and foremost, the best weapons available in No Return will be melee weapons. Given the nature of the mode, these are some of the few things that are going to be available to everyone on essentially every run. Seriously, stealth and melee will get you through almost every encounter.

I’d say you could even take this a step further. Getting the Close Combat upgrade tree will allow you to craft melee upgrades. Abby actually starts with this tree, as well as the ability to gain health from every melee kill. This means she’s a solid choice if you’re grinding out runs.

However, I recommend using handguns for encounters if you prefer a bit of range. Try for the revolver or hunting pistol if you can get them. This is simply so you can conserve your ammo for long arms later when difficulty escalates.

As for craftable items, the Molotov cocktail and pipe bomb are the two best bets. These will pack the most punch and potentially clear multiple enemies simultaneously. If you’re sticking with stealth-only, you may also find the trip mines worth playing around with.

Best weapons for taking down The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered No Return bosses

When you reach a boss, you’re gonna need firepower. First and foremost, I recommend getting one of the two shotguns by the time you face the boss in a run. Especially if you’re heading into one of the infected boss fights. After all, stealth and melee weapons can only get you so far when you’re up against a Bloater.

You have a couple of other great options, too. I found an upgraded hunting pistol can help a lot, especially with the human boss fights. If you get unlucky and can’t find either type of shotgun, an upgraded hunting rifle can also do some serviceable damage. Basically, make sure you have guns and ammo for these major encounters.

Additionally, the Molotovs and pipe bombs I recommended for general encounters will help a lot here, too. Infected and human bosses both take serious damage from these. If you can swing it, I recommend going into bosses with a full pack of each.

The Last of Us 2 Remastered is available exclusively on the PS5.
