Best Weapon Combinations in Earth Defense Force 6

Each class in Earth Defense Force 6 can equip a range of weapon combinations unique to them. However, some weapons are much more useful than others, and knowing the best combinations to get the best out of each class is key to success.

Best Weapon Combinations for Ranger

The Ranger is an all-round class with a lot of options for weapon combinations, although some have limited use. The shotguns and flamethrowers are powerful but require you to be up close to enemies, while sniper rifles can be tricky to use in many situations.

To get the best out of the Ranger, he ideally needs to have an assault rifle, the higher damage, the better. This is a good all-round weapon choice as it works well on groups and at both long and short range. This is best paired with an explosive second option, ideally a rocket launcher. Ideally this should be the Grant M31, as the Cascade’s fast fire rate doesn’t make up for its low damage output and poor accuracy.

Best Weapon Combinations for Wing Diver

The Wing Diver has arguably the worst weapon combinations of all classes in Earth Defense Force 6. However, there are some things that work in her favor.

Ideally, you want a Pulse Machine Gun swapped to her main weapon, as this is the better option for crowds and gives her a long-range weapon that suits her flying abilities. As for the second weapon slot, I recommend switching to the Bolt Gun as soon as you unlock it. While it suffers the same short-range issue as her default Rapier, it has a much better range. Equipping a shield of some kind is beneficial to the Wing Diver too, as it helps counter her poor defense options.

Best Weapon Combinations for Air Raider

The Air Raider in Earth Defense Force 6 can equip three weapons at once, which means there are a lot of weapon combinations available to him. Many of them require some setup, but there’s a solid all-purpose setup I’ve found that helps maximize his damage output.

Ideally, you want the Machine Gun Multicopter, the Rapid-Fire Portable Attack Aircraft and the Mortar Multicopter. The Machine Guns can be sent independently to different enemies, while the Portable Attack Aircraft can be sent forward into a crowd. This will clear a big chunk of a crowd with ease, and for anything left, the Mortars can be called in to finish them off. While best used for crowds, the simplicity of the first two makes for a solid choice in smaller groups. On top of this, throwing a Guard Capsule into his backpack adds an extra option that keeps a steady rate of fire going.

Best Weapon Combinations for Fencer

The Fencer has many options in Earth Defense Force 6, with two weapon combinations at any given time. However, while there is a lot of customization available here, I personally found the melee options a little lacking, so I’d advise avoiding them.

Instead, a solid combo for the Fencer is equipping a Gatling Gun and a Mortar of Hand Cannon as the right-hand options. The Gatling Gun offers a lot of fire power that works in many situations, and switching to the explosive option allows for speedy crowd dispersal.

For the left hand, equip the Deflector Shield in both slots. This shield helps you tank damage even better, and the shield bash move they provide you with helps keep enemies away when necessary.

Earth Defense Force 6 is out now for PC, PS4 and PS5.
