The Mother’s Gift is the new currency for Diablo IV Season 5 that is tied to The Rising Hells Seasonal Questline. Obtaining this currency will also net you character rewards, such as caches that will drop Legendary and Unique items. This is largely the reason you will want to obtain The Mother’s Gift, since the items that drop in these caches will carry you into Diablo 4’s end game.

There are a few ways to farm this currency, but by far, the most effective is running Helltides. Helltides can be found on your map as areas that are drenched in red. You can see an example of what this looks like on your map below.

Helltides in general are just the way to go for a lot of content in Diablo 4. You’ll be able to level up quickly through participating in Helltides, and using Baleful Hearts to summon timed area bosses will help get better equipment as you acquire The Mother’s Gift.

But outside of that, everything gives The Mother’s Gift. I suggest doing Strongholds as well, just to open up more teleports on the map, and participating in Legion and World Events as well. As long as you’re killing, you’re getting The Mother’s Gift. But there are obviously better ways to get them, and the best way to do that is the aforementioned Helltides.

Once you’ve obtained enough of The Mother’s Gift, you can head to Zarbinzet and speak to the NPC marked with the teal leaf icon and a demon’s head. This is where you can redeem your gifts to obtain caches.
