Best Utility Items for Snipers

Snipers already have a bunch of abilities that can enhance their ability to do damage from afar, but why not add Utility Items that can enhance that even further? Adding a Scope to a Sniper steadies their aim and extends their aimline even further.

If this feels like overkill, one of the more useful Utility Items that can counter one of the SteamWorld Heist 2 Sniper’s weaknesses is the Sidearm. Since Snipers have to reload after every shot, equipping them with a Sidearm gives them an emergency extra shot if enemies manage to get close and you can’t immediately shoot them. This is limited and should be used sparingly but it’s a useful addition to have.

Best Utility Items for Reapers

Reapers are damage dealers but they can also be a little flimsy, especially with their naturally reduced HP. To counter this, you should consider equipped Reinforced Plating as one of your Utility Items. This will boost their defence and prevent them from being scrapped too early.

Another useful addition to a Reaper kit is the Grenades. While the SMG is capable of doing plenty of damage on its own, having a Grenade on hand can help clear a crowd when necessary. This becomes essential if your Reaper of choice is Wesley, as his Personal Skill allows him to throw a Grenade as a Free Action.

Best Utility Items for Boomers

Coming up with ideal Utility Items for Boomers in SteamWorld Heist 2 is difficult, as they already have strong kits. However, Grenades are a must if you want more options for blowing things up, especially as their trajectory is different to their rocket launchers.

The Scope can also be a useful addition to their kit, as it helps steady their aim make their rockets more accurate. It won’t make the rocket launcher as accurate as a sniper rifle but even the limited sightline it provides is a huge boost.

Best Utility Items for Brawlers

Brawlers are up close fighters who need to be in everyone’s faces quickly. Fortunately, SteamWorld Heist 2 has provided a few useful Utility Items to enhance what they can do. First up, there are the Knuckles. These boost the damage of melee attacks, and combined with a powerful weapon, this will help you one-shot even the toughest opponents.

Boots are also a huge benefit to Brawlers due to the increase in movement. Keep an eye out for Military Boots especially, as these add an additional immunity to being Hobbled, a status effect that can completely shut down a Brawler’s game plan.

Best Utility Items for Engineers

Engineers are a support class that aids with healing and buffs, as well as doing damage with their dual shot pistols. To enhance this, one of the simplest Utility Items you can give an Engineer is an extra Repair Kit. While they have their own more powerful healing skill unlocked at level 3, an additional healing option in an emergency is a useful option to have. This is especially important in the hands of a character like Tristan, who can use these as a Free Action due to a personal ability.

One big downside for the Engineer is the poor accuracy of their pistols. Once again, this is a Job that benefits from a Scope, as it helps steady their poor aim.

Best Utility Items for Flankers

Flankers can be a powerful unit in SteamWorld Heist 2, but it’s worth equipping some useful Utility Items to overcome their weaknesses. Some Reinforced Plating helps Flankers to stay alive longer, so it’s always worth equipping.

Of course, if this doesn’t help and your health falls too low while you’re deep in the fray, a Repair Kit will also help you get back to good health.

SteamWorld Heist 2 is out now for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
