Best Sulfur Farm Locations in Palworld

Sulfur is one of the most important resources in Palworld, as you need it to be able to craft Gunpowder for your weapon ammo. This guide will break down the best Sulfur farm locations in Palworld so you can mine the mineral in large quantities.

Where to find Sulfur in Palworld

Sulfur can technically be found in various sections on the map. However, most spawn areas don’t have fast travel points nearby, which is not ideal because it takes too much time to mine. After spending 50 hours in the game, I have narrowed down the two best spots to get Sulfur.

The best place to farm Sulfur in Palworld

The best place to farm Sulfur in Palworld is the Mount Obsidian Midpoint fast travel point. Although you have to have heat-resistant clothes to visit the lava-filled region, the volcanic mountain has an abundance of Sulfur rocks that spawn on the map in groups.

Mount Obsidian Midpoint farming route

Once you arrive at the Mount Obsidian Midpoint fast travel point, use one of the flying mounts in Palworld to fly south down the mountain. As you soar in the air, you will be able to see many yellow rocks in the lava-filled environment. You can simply drop down and mine them.

You can see the exact route you should take to farm Sulfur in Palworld in the map below:

Now that you are at the correct Mount Obsidian spot, below are the steps you can take to farm Sulfur:

  • After you warp to the Mount Obsidian Midpoint fast travel point, hop on your flying mount and head south down the mountain.
  • You will eventually find a circular rock area surrounded by lava (see the map above). This spot has five Sulfur rocks that are grouped together.
  • At the group of Sulfur rocks, craft a Palbox with 1 Paldium Fragment, 8 Wood, and 3 Stone to set up a base. You will also need to craft a Primitive Workbench.
  • Next, interact with your Palbox in your new camp and select “Pal Box Management.”
  • Add Pals with Mining Skills to the empty slots in the “Pal who is at the base.”
  • Craft chests to store your Sulfur. Chests can be made with 15 Wood and 5 Stone.

Twilight Dunes Farming Route

The best early-game location to get Sulfur in Palworld is the Twilight Dunes next to the Anubis Alpha Boss icon on your map. Unlike Mount Obsidian, most Sulfur rocks here are scattered throughout the desert region. So it’s not really ideal for farming.

However, if you are still at the beginning of your game and need a few Sulfur minerals, then this is spot is perfect. The quickest way to get here is to warp to the Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyran fast travel point. Next, hop on your mount and make your way north to the desert. Once you arrive at the Twilight Dunes, look for the yellow Rocks throughout the region.

You can usually find them next to the giant tortoise-looking Pals called Digtoise. Depending on how much weight you can carry, you can easily get around 200 Sulfur in about 10 minutes just by walking around the area. The only annoying thing is that there isn’t a fast travel point close by. So, again, this is only good for the early game when you need a few Sulfur minerals to craft Gunpowder in Palworld.

Pals that drop Sulfur in Palworld

Unlike other resources in Palworld, there aren’t any Pals in the game that drop Sulfur. I know, how disappointing! So, as of now, the only way to get Sulfur is to find the yellow rocks in the overworld and mine them with a pickaxe. However, Pocketpair could add new Pals into the game in the future that drop the resource. If so, we’ll make sure to add it to this list.

Palworld is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
