I can’t get over this phenomenal cast of characters. The core love triangle at the center of the series is compelling enough on its own, but the rest of the supporting cast is also excellent. It has everything from drama to comedy to a little bit of action and plenty of twists and turns. This is a genuine masterpiece of the genre.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War
As someone who, in the past, primarily watched anime and rarely read manga, a series influencing me to read its manga version is a statement. Such is the case with Kaguya-sama. It tells the story of two student council members who clearly like each other but battle to force the other to confess first. Its ridiculous premise leads to some of the wildest and funniest antics in all of manga.
Skip Beat!
This long-running romance manga is the one for those who want a lengthy story. Skip Beat! first began its serialization in 2002. Well over 20 years later and the series is still going strong with more than 300 chapters to enjoy. The initial premise of a girl aiming to succeed in show business to get revenge against her pop idol wannabe love interest who took advantage of her is unmatched.
