Best Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2

SteamWorld Heist 2 players can choose from a range of Recruits as they play through the game. While their stats are largely the same for any character with the same Job, their unique Personal Skills are what make them stand out from one another.

Why Judy Is One of the Best Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2

Dame Judy Wrench is one of your earliest Boomer recruits, meaning she’ll likely join your team if you’re looking for someone to do some crowd control. As well as her explosive default abilities, however, her personal ability can help you wrack up even more damage.

Harsh Language is an incredibly useful ability. It works a lot like the Boomer’s Hidden Explosives Skill, except instead of targeting cover, it targets enemy units. Each use does an automatic 3 damage, and no aiming is required.

Why Cornelius Is One of the Best Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2

Cornelius is a personal favorite of all my recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2, because he is an aggressive tank that can start causing trouble from the moment he enters a new area. By default, he’s a Brawler, and his Personal Skill helps strengthen his prowess in this Job.

Abs of Steel turns him into an invincible tank for one turn, and draws all attacks towards him. It’s the perfect ability to use when you’re surrounded by enemies and need a reprieve. Sadly, while it is a powerful ability, it can only be used once during a mission, so timing is key to get the most out of this.

Why Tristan Is One of the Best Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2

Tristan Torque is an engineer who pops up as one of your potential Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2. As a support unit, ideally he needs something that can boost his ability to aid his allies. Fortunately, his Personal Skill is the perfect addition to his kit.

Always Prepared allows Tristan to use a Repair Kit as a Free Action. Obviously, this requires you to equip him with a Repair Kit ahead of a fight, but once it’s there, you get a free heal if he’s in your squad.

Why Sola Is One of the Best Recruits in SteamWorld Heist 2

Sola Fathom is another Engineer in SteamWorld Heist 2, and her unique skill doesn’t enhance her job’s usual abilities. Instead, it makes up for one of the job’s weaknesses – the poor accuracy and limited damage output.

Eldritch Beam is a powerful move and one that’s extremely good in tough situations. It shoots a powerful beam with an aimline that surpasses even the sniper rifle. Even better, this beam can travel a long distance and will pass through enemies. The only disadvantage with this move is how long its cooldown can be.

SteamWorld Heist 2 is out now for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
