When infiltrating Martira in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll eventually find yourselves caught! You’ll fall into a trap and wind up imprisoned. You need to choose the order in which to set Heismay, Hulkenberg, and Strohl free after Gallica sets the hero free in Metaphor: ReFantazio, and one option is best.
What order should I set Heismay, Hulkenberg, and Strohl free in Metaphor: ReFantazio?
Now, by about this point in the story, I had members in the party around level 30 or so. It’s important to keep that in mind. The first person you’ll encounter after that is Heismay. Go ahead and set him free first. The monsters unleashed when you do are a small pack of dogs, which you can dispatch without even going into a turn-based battle. You can tackle them in the field.
The second person to set free in this scenario is Hulkenberg. Again, this is because the two aquatic enemies unleashed at the same time are also no big threat. You can defeat them without heading into a fight if you’re around level 30. Just make sure you’re quick with the attack button once they’re unleashed so you can fight them without going into a real battle.
Which means the best order to free the group in Metaphor: ReFantazio is to start with Heismay, unleash Hulkenberg, and finally set Strohl loose. This is because the enemy tied to Strohl is a Chimenza. While you’ll later encounter this as a “normal” enemy in dungeons, it’s pretty intimidating here! The best weakness to exploit is wind magic like Cyc. Since your avatar starts as a Seeker that learns it, make sure that spell is set as an inheritance. You also should have the Mage Wind Igniter from the beginning of the game that you can equip on someone else. (Strohl had it in my game.)
Make sure you grab all the treasure chests from the now open cells before you leave. Especially the one that once held the Chimenza! It holds a Sleepy Eyed Katana that’s quite useful for a Thief or Assassin!
Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
