Sawtowne – M@gical Cure! Love Shot! Feat. Hatsune Miku

This is the winner of the MIKU EXPO 10th Anniversary Song Contest Grand Prize, and for good reason! Sawtowne’s attention to detail and homage to different eras of Miku and fanworks really shines through in the sheer effort put into every aspect of the song’s production and presentation.

jon-YAKITORI – YAMADA PERFECT feat. Hatsune Miku

Yamada Perfect combines early Vocaloid themes with a hardstyle beat, creating something truly special. While BUGSWIFE was a close contender, Yamada Perfect won out (and yes, the laughing cat sound effect in Yamada Perfect played a role!). Both songs perfectly execute their concepts, but Yamada Perfect feels quintessentially Hatsune Miku in a way that just really resonates.

PinocchioP – Fake Meme feat. Hatsune Miku

A song about lies with a Pinocchio reference just feels right coming from PinocchioP. While UTuber was a close runner-up, Fake Meme edged it out for me with its loopability and touching lyricism. UTuber more specifically resonates with a creator’s experience, focusing on the challenges of creation, the disconnect with the audience, and the looming impact of AI. So, both songs are well worth the listen, but Fake Meme’s broader appeal ultimately earns it its spot on this list.

CircusP & Yunosuke – Intergalactic Bound (Hatsune Miku EXPO 2024 / 10th Anniversary Theme Song)

This is the official 10th Anniversary Theme Song for Miku and the featured track for Hatsune Miku EXPO 2024. Acting as a celebratory anthem for Miku’s global success, it captures the virtual idol’s charm with varying locations and outfits.

DECO*27— Hao

DECO*27’s HAO is a standout track this year. Its hardstyle beats paired with traditional Chinese instruments like the gong create a unique and powerful sound. The visuals, with Chinese pop culture influences, perfectly complement the music. Lyrically, HAO tackles themes of internal conflict, lovesickness, and the frustration of unexpressed emotions, making it emotionally gripping and memorable. Absolutely another masterpiece by DECO*27 in a year full of bangers.

Superfusion ft. Hatsune Miku – Maiku Tachibana

A relative newcomer to the scene, Maiku’s spent this last year honing their skills with a one song a month vocaloid challenge, and to show for their years worth of work they’ve finally had a new song, superfusion, go viral! It’s a song focusing on themes like alcoholism and debauchery. If you’re looking for a song that offers a different, disassociated take on Miku, this one is a must-listen.
