Diablo IV‘s first Season is the Season of the Malignant and releases on July 20, 2023. And before it does, it would be wise to go in with an idea of what kind of build you want to go for, seeing as you’ll be starting over again with a fresh seasonal character. Here’s what I’d recommend as the best Necromancer build for Diablo 4 Season 1.
What is the best Necromancer build for Diablo 4 Season 1?
My recommended Necromancer build for Season of the Malignant is similar to my favorite early-game Necromancer build in that you base it around the Bone Spear Skill. Since Diablo IV‘s release back in June 2023, Bone Spear has remained one of Necromancer’s best Skills due to its high damage output and scale capabilities.
The build also relies heavily on Corpse Tendrils and corpse generation to power the Skill. Note that your defense isn’t the best with this build, so you’ll need to make use of your Potions and kite enemies often to avoid taking too much damage.
Which Necromancer Skills should I pick in Diablo IV Season 1?
I recommend using your Skill Points on these Skills:
- Bone Splinters
- Enhanced Bone Splinters
- Bone Spear
- Enhanced Bone Spear
- Paranormal Bone Spear
- Corpse Explosion
- Enhanced Corpse Explosion
- Blighted Corpse Explosion
- Corpse Tendrils
- Enhanced Corpse Tendrils
- Blood Mist
And choose these buffs and passives to power your Skills:
- Hewed Flesh
- Unliving Energy
- Imperfectly Balanced
- Grim Harvest
- Skeletal Warrior Mastery
- Compound Fracture
- Evulsion
- Serration
- Reaper’s Pursuit
- Necrotic Carapace
- Death’s Reach
- Ossified Essence
Which Aspects should I use on my Necromancer Season 1 build?
Aspects are necessary for your Bone Spear Necromancer in Diablo IV Season of the Malignant, especially Protecting Aspect, as it helps your survivability. I recommend going for the following:
- Protecting Aspect: When you take damage while you’re already damaged, a bubble encases you for three to five seconds. This bubble makes you immune to incoming damage.
- Aspect of Disobedience: When you deal damage, you gain up to 0.5% increased Armor for four seconds. This stacks up to 50%.
- Splintering Aspect: Bone Spear makes enemies hit beyond the first Vulnerable. Bone Shards pierce and deal extra damage to Vulnerable enemies.
- Aspect of Grasping Veins: When you cast Corpse Tendrils, you gain up to 20% increased Critical Strike Chance for six seconds. Enemies affected by Corpse Tendrils take up to 60% extra damage.
Diablo IV is available now on the PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Season of the Malignant starts on June 20, 2023, and runs for three months.
