Since Hatsune Miku’s release in 2007, many Nendoroids from Good Smile Company have been made of her. Considering factors like cultural significance, design, and detail, Siliconera has come up with our list of the best Hatsune Miku Nendoroids.
6. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Beauty Looking Back Miku Ver.
This is the most recent Nendoroid on our list, as it was released in September of this year. This kimono-clad Miku with slicked-back hair was produced by Good Smile Company in collaboration with the Tokyo National Museum and The National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties.
A portion of the profits this Hatsune Miku Nendoroid receives are donated to aid in restoration projects, so if you purchase her, you’re also donating to a museum! She is available to purchase now on the Good Smile US online shop for $63.99.
5. Nendoroid Sakura Miku: Bloomed in Japan
This pink Nendoroid was the first in the line to be manufactured at the Lucky Factory in Tottori, Japan, in December 2014. She was also the 500th Nendoroid to ever be released, marking a milestone for Good Smile Company. To commemorate that achievement, Sakura Miku received a redesign that braided her long twin-tails.
The Hatsune Miku Nendoroid also comes with many optional display parts that help to capture the scene of cherry blossom viewing, such as some hanami dango (a traditional Japanese sweet), amazake (a type of sweet sake), and a sakura blossom to hold. Her hair tips are made with translucent plastic. Interestingly, her box is made of traditional textured washi paper, which isn’t standard for most Nendoroids.
This Nendoroid is so detailed – she even has a Sakura flower printed on her underwear (don’t ask me how I know that). Since she is almost ten years old now, you’ll have to purchase her pre-owned. You can find her in good condition on websites like Amiami for around 9,500 yen ($64).
4. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Kigurumi Agumon Ver.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Digimon Adventure, Hatsune Miku collaborated with the franchise for this Nendoroid release in May of 2021. This is one of the only Miku Nendoroids that features advanced articulation so that she can be put in a variety of poses.
She also comes with optional butterfly and goggle parts. If you’d like to purchase her brand new, she’s available now on Solaris Japan for around $60.
3. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Cheerful Ver. (2011 Edition)
This is easily the oldest Hatsune Miku Nendoroid on our list, as she was released in June of 2011 following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami natural disaster. For every purchase that was made of her, a 1,000 yen donation was matched to the Japan Red Cross to support the relief efforts for Eastern Japan. She comes with a pair of orange cheer pom-poms and a flag with the words “You are not alone” printed on it.
If you’d like to purchase her now, she is currently available on Solaris Japan for about $40. You can watch the original commercial for this Nendoroid that features “SING & SMILE” by Re:nG here. The song was created to show Miku’s support for Japan.
2. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Maneki Miku Ver.
This charming Hatsune Miku Nendoroid was released in July of 2022. Hatsune Miku has received a new design based on the maneki neko, which is a Japanese good luck charm. Just like an actual maneki neko figurine, this Miku beckons good fortune to its owner with its cat-like poses. She has a golden leek and a senryobako suitcase (a case to store large amounts of money during the Edo period) as optional parts.
The kanji character meaning “fortune” is printed on her outfit many times. This is also one of the few Nendoroids with heterochromia or two different colors of eyes. In addition to this, she can also balance on her own without needing a stand while in an adorable sitting position. She is on sale now on the Good Smile US online shop for $48.29.
1. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: 15th Anniversary Ver.
A special strawberry-themed Hatsune Miku Nendoroid was released to celebrate her 15th anniversary on August 31, 2022 (also known as her birthday). Her design was based on an illustration by En Morikura, who has also worked on cards for the Pokemon Trading Card Game in the past. Her base is meant to resemble a realistic plate.
The figurine also comes with other extra strawberry, macaron, and whipped cream optional parts. Her outfit is extremely detailed, with tiny frills, ribbons, and little white flowers adorned in her hair. Overall, her design screams “strawberry,” and her swirled hairstyle is both unique and quintessential of Hatsune Miku.
This gorgeous Nendoroid is a respectable celebration of how far Miku has come. You may have difficulty finding her new in the box as she is highly sought after. Currently, she is available pre-owned on Amiami for about $128.
