Best Games to Play on an AYANEO Pocket Micro

The AYANEO Pocket Micro is a really fun little Android device, and odds are you’ll want to load it up with games ASAP. While the nature of it and design might make certain types attractive, hitting the Google Play store first thing is also smart. That’s because there are a lot of titles there that would be good fits for a launch library.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Since there’s controller support, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a really strong option. Because of the nature of the original release, size isn’t an issue when playing it on an AYANEO Pocket Micro. Also, it’s one of the finest Castlevania games, so it has that going for it too. I’d recommend giving it a try from Google Play.

Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger is one of the finest JRPGs of not only the SNES era, but even now stands strong among its contemporaries. The mobile version on Google Play has gotten better over the years, thanks to updates, and it means it is one of the best games to buy and play on the AYANEO Pocket Micro.

Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail

Okay, so, to be clear, I think both Genshin Impactand Honkai: Star Railare fantastic games. Especially on Android devices. Now, both games actually do work pretty great on the AYANEO Pocket Micro, but I wouldn’t say it is the best way to play them. The text is so small that it’s impossible to do certain things. Not to mention it’s frustrating to need to constantly restart with controller mode on, since that’s only in the in-game option menu. But they work on there and, honestly, you could use this as a means to get through your dailies!

Final Fantasy VI

While you could honestly go with any of the recent Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster installments and be fine, I think FFVIis the one to go with for this Android handheld. It is just so well-suited for it. It looks great on there. It’s a lengthy JRPG. The story still stands up after all these years. I recommend it.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is another situation where you can play the game on the AYANEO Pocket Micro, it will work pretty well and run fine, but it probably isn’t the best way to go through things. I’d say if you already bought it from Google Play to play on another device, give it a try. See if you think it is worth it.

Minecraft

Minecraft, on the other hand, is absolutely perfect on this handheld. It works flawlessly. It plays well. It’s such a good timesink for the system. I definitely recommend making this one of your first AYANEO Pocket Micro game purchases from Google Play, as I had so much fun with it on the handheld.

River City Girls

A lot of the Crunchyroll Game Library titles work pretty well on the AYANEO Pocket Micro! Like Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror is good too. But my strongest recommendation goes to this version of River City Girls. It just flows really well on the system, and the nature of the text and storytelling means it is always easy to read and enjoy.

Stardew Valley

Yeah, okay, of course I’m going to recommend Stardew Valley for the AYANEO Pocket Micro. It’s one of the finest farming sims out there, after all. Plus in November 2024, the 1.6 update arrives. The only issue is that, like other games on this list, it gets a bit difficult to parse due to the font size and size of everything on the small screen. So if you already own it, give it a try, but maybe don’t buy it just for this handheld.

Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors is one of those mobile games that is going to be a little difficult to play on the AYANEO Pocket Micro due to its size… but it’s free! Who cares if it’s a little uncomfy. I still liked hopping into it on the handheld to see how it works and run around. It isn’t like you need to worry about using the action buttons to attack, after all. And if you’re familiar enough with it, text isn’t a big issue and icons are recognizable enough.

The AYANEO Pocket Micro project is on Indiegogo.
