Best Fugue Build in Honkai: Star Rail Goes All In on Break Effect

Fugue is a 5-star Fire Nihility character in Honkai: Star Rail whose build heavily relies on Break Effect to make the most of her kit. As a Super Break facilitator, you should make sure you give her the best Light Cones or Relics, since you can get away with a poorly-built DPS if you have a well-built support.

When considering your Fugue build in Honkai: Star Rail, you should keep in mind what she needs. To take advantage of her Phecda Primordia Bonus Ability, you will need a minimum of 220% Break Effect. You should also try for 67% Effect Hit Rate. Other stats Fugue needs are SPD, and either HP or DEF to make sure she doesn’t go down.

Here are the best Light Cones for a Fugue build in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Long Roads Lead Home
As Fugue’s signature Light Cone, this is her best in slot. It increases her Break Effect by 60% and has a 100% base chance of inflicting “Charring,” which increases how much Break Effect the enemy takes. The 60% Break Effect boost can really help Fugue hit the ideal 220% she needs, but it’s not necessary since you can achieve that number with Relics, Planar Ornaments, and other Light Cones.
  • Solitary Healing
Solitary Healing is a good F2P Light Cone if you want the stats of a 5-star, but don’t want to gacha for Long Roads Lead Home. It increases Fugue’s Break effect by 20%, as well regenerates Energy for her if an enemy with a DoT from her is defeated. She’s not exactly a DoT dealer, so that second effect is not that important; the only time Fugue can deal Burn is if she Breaks an enemy herself. So the main focus here is that 20% Break Effect bonus.
  • Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
Before the Tutorial Mission is a Light Cone that was only available during the Starhunt Game event, which is not in the Conventional Memoir. It’s honestly not even that good for Fugue compared to the other ones on this list, but if you don’t want to give them to her or don’t have them, then it’s a good substitute. It’s mostly good for increasing her Effect Hit Rate, as well as letting her regenerate Energy if she attacks enemies with reduced DEF. Fugue can’t do that on her own, so she can only benefit from the second effect if you run her someone like Pela.
  • Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat is a great F2P 4-star Light Cone that can help her deal more damage with Super Break. When she hits an enemy without Ensnared on them, she has a chance of inflicting them with that debuff. Ensnared decreases enemy DEF, which in turn means they take more damage from Super Break.

Here are the best Relics for Fugue

  • 4-pc Thief of Shooting Meteor
The 2-pc effect increases Fugue’s Break Effect by 16%, and the 4-pc increases it by another 16%. The energy bonus is only if she Weakness Breaks the enemy, and Fugue’s Ultimate doesn’t do anything except deal damage unless you’ve unlocked her E2. Nonetheless, it’s a good set if you want to think of her as another attacker in the same way that Lingsha can double as one despite being Abundance.
  • 2-pc Break Effect, 2-pc Break Effect
This chimera set uses a 2-pc of Thief of Shooting Meteor, Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge, or Watchmaker. All of these sets have a 16% increase to Break Effect as the 2-pc effect. The more Break Effect Fugue has on her, the better she’ll be.
  • 4-pc Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
This is similar to Thief in that it increases how much damage Fugue does with Break and Super Break DMG, while also increasing her Break Effect. If you have enough to reach her 220%, and you want to treat her as another source of Break damage, then this is a pretty good set for her. But I personally would recommend the above two sets before this one.
  • Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
Talia is the best Planar Ornament set for Fugue because it increases her Break Effect against enemies of all Weakness types. To make the most of it, she needs 145 SPD. However, as a support, she wants high SPD anyway.
  • Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern
Kalpagni Lantern increases Fugue’s SPD and when she hits an enemy with Fire Weakness, it increase her Break Effect by 40% for one turn. That’s really good, but this set is best if you plan to exclusively run her against enemies with Fire Weakness or on a Firefly team. Firefly can plant Fire Weakness, which makes it easier to hit that second effect.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. You can pull for Fugue in Honkai: Star Rail when the “The Long Voyage Home” banner is active.
