Best Ellen Build in Zenless Zone Zero

As the first limited, five-star Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, Ellen is already powerful, but it is possible to build her up further. While there are few options at the moment due to the game being so young, there are some distinct W-Engine and Disc Drives that will help bring out her full potential.

Conveniently, Ellen’s ideal W-Engine is also available in Signal Search as a limited time drop from the W-Engine Channel. This is the Deep Sea Visitor which applies multiple effects that are a huge benefit to her abilities. Firstly, the Ice DMG boost makes her already decent damage output even better, while her CRIT Rate sees an increase when hitting an opponent with a Basic Attack.

However, the final benefit is tailormade for her, as its effects are best suited for her play style. Deep Sea Visitor adds an additional boost to CRIT Rate from a Dash Attack, something you’ll be using a lot of in order to build Flash Freeze charges. Since charge attacks out of Roaming already help boost Ellen’s Basic Attack, this extra bonus adds even more power.

However, if you’ve yet to pull her S-Rank W-Engine, there is a decent A-Rank option available to her. The Starlight Engine offers an ATK boost for every Dodge Counter or Quick Assist, which is a decent boost when added to her evasive play style.

Best Disc Drive Sets for Ellen

While it may be tempting to pick the Woodpecker Electro option, due to the enhanced CRIT Rate, a better Disc Drive option for Ellen is Shockstar Disco. This Disc Drive offers a 4-piece bonus that sees a 20% increase in Daze inflicted with various attacks. This includes her Basic Attacks and Dash Attacks, the centerpiece of her play style, so this is extremely useful. With this, you’ll not only be doing more damage, but getting enemies into the Stunned state much faster too.

Zenless Zone Zero is available for PC, PS5 and mobile devices. Ellen is available as the current limited Signal Search Agent until July 24, 2024.
