Dragon Age: The Veilguard has several party members that join the team over the course of the main story. They all have different classes, specializations, and skills. As such, there are some companions that are better at battle than others. In addition, some of the best companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are also worth considering more for romance.
Best Dragon Age: The Veilguard Party Members Worth Bringing Along
You can only have two party members accompany you for fights and quests. As such, the best party members to pick will largely depend on your particular playstyle and class. If you are a Mage, for instance, you might not necessarily need another Mage. The same goes for Rogue and Warrior.
As such, you should, instead, focus on the various skills your companions have. If you need a Mage, I recommend Bellara or Emmrich. If you’re in need of a Warrior, Davrin is almost always going to be your go-to Warrior due to his utility compared to Taash. And if you need a Rogue, Lucanis or Lace is going to be your best bet depending on your style. My preference is Lucanis for his aggression and damage, but both are solid options.
Best Dragon Age: The Veilguard Companions to Romance
While the best party members are pretty set in stone, the best Dragon Age: The Veilguard companions to romance is far more subjective. Everyone has their preferences when it comes to romance. That said, some characters do have more intriguing storylines and romance scenes worth considering.
For me, the ones I think are worth checking out the most are Bellara, Lucanis, Emmrich, and Harding. They are the most interesting characters in terms of personality, emotional worth, and what their stories have to entail. Lucanis and Emmrich, in particular, have some additional elements to their lives in Spite and Manfred, respectively, that just make them a joy to spend time with.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available right now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
