Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you an impressive selection of races and classes to choose from when creating your character, but let’s be real: it still isn’t perfect for some players. Enter the best Baldur’s Gate 3 cosmetic mods, which are here to provide you with the best visual appearance options in all the realms. Remember to get the Full Release Mod Fixer by Chance Santana-Wees before trying any of these.
New Character Creator Presets
First up for the Baldur’s Gate 3 cosmetic mods is the New Character Creation Presets WIP by Toarie. What you’ll find in this game is the presets are pretty minimal, as the game focuses more on randomly giving you characters and then forcing you to customize them on your own. This fixes that issue, giving some impressive new face presets that are much better than what I could make on my own.
Tav’s Hair Salon
Characters in this game largely look stunning, but the hairstyles can leave something to be desired. Tav’s Hair Salon mod by Toarie fixes that, offering a ton of highly detailed styles for various races (but not all). This gives you much more options for making your character look nice, especially for races like the Githyanki.
Transmog Mod
One of the unfortunate lacking features in this game is the ability to transmog the appearance of an armor you like onto another one. The Transmog mod by Conrad Wolfhart adds this crucial visual feature to your game. This means you can keep the higher stats of the armor you need in battle but with the appearance of the weaker equipment you prefer to look at. At this time, it only works for the default class armor, but this could be changed in the future.
Dyes Unlimited
Dye is a valuable way to spice up your armor’s appearance. Just changing a robe from red to black or yellow to blue can make it look so much better. Unfortunately, dyes are limited and destroyed after you use them once in Baldurs Gate 3. The Everybody Dyes Unlimited Dyeing mod by Loktide does what its name says and makes dyes unlimited so that you can customize to your heart’s content.
Dice Set Expansion
A tabletop RPG player’s best friend is their set of dice. It’s too bad there are only a couple of options to change your dice’s appearance in this game. The Dice Set Expansion mod by Koriik adds 14 new dice skins, some of which look way better than the official options that are in Baldurs Gate 3. Better yet, there are even skins that are specifically built for those with eyesight difficulties.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5 and PC. It will also be released on Xbox Series X/S later in 2023.
