The Marvel’s Avengers beta has been dated. This means we have a “try before you buy” situation on your hands, only with a situation where Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix will benefit ahead of time as well. A Marvel’s Avengers War Table presentation will be held at 10am PT/1pm ET/7pm CET on July 29, 2020, ahead of the betas that will begin to kick off on August 7, 2020. [Thanks, IGN!]
The thing about the Marvel’s Avengers beta is, we have a staggered release. If you have pre-orders and which platforms you own and prefer will determine when you can start testing it out.
PlayStation 4 owners take priority. If someone pre-orders that version of the game, they can start playing on August 7, 2020. The PlayStation 4 open beta begins a week later on August 14, 2020.
Xbox One and PC players basically have a one week wait. If people on those platforms pre-order, their pre-order beta phase begins on August 14, 2020. Then, the open beta for absolutely everyone starts a week after that on August 21, 2020.
As a reminder, this is the second Marvel’s Avengers War Table event coming up. The first one, which was held back on June 24, 2020, focused on things like cooperative multiplayer. Presumably, the July War Table presentation will focus on what people can expect from the Marvel’s Avengers beta test and perhaps let people know which characters they will be able to use, modes they can test out, and places they can see in August.
Marvel’s Avengers will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4, 2020, with the beta being held a month before in August 2020. There will be free upgrades to the next-gen versions for people who buy a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
