At the end of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Minecraft Steve and Alex DLC video, Director Masahiro Sakurai took a moment to talk about upcoming amiibo. He shared the general release windows for three DLC fighters’ figures. In 2021, people will be able to get the Banjo & Kazooie, Byleth, and Terry Bogard amiibo.
Sakurai began talking about them at the 40:47 mark of the video presentation. First, he looked at the Banjo & Kazooie amiibo. He noted this was a prototype and also said, “It’s amazing to think that an official 3D model of Banjo & Kazooie is being made by NIntendo.”
He then went on to look at the other figures. Byleth will only be available in the P1 male version. Sakurai noted that it was only possible to make the one and not the P2 variant. Terry showed up last, “punching” through a Minecraft block wall.
In addition, the Persona 5 Joker and Dragon Quest XI Hero amiibo are immediately available. They are $15.99 each at stores like GameStop, Target, and Walmart. (Amazon is currently sold out.)
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch. The Banjo & Kazooie, Byleth, and Terry amiibo will all be released in 2021.
