Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 Will Include an Epilogue

Larian Studios announced that Patch 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will contain an epilogue. It’s the latest of many announced features coming with the next patch, which also aims to address some major issues with the game’s third act.

While Larian has not provided a lot of details on the epilogue, we do know that it will be coming as part of Patch 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3. Based on the announcement image, it’s likely that it will feature new scenes of the party reminiscing on their adventures at camp following the end of the game. While Withers is pictured wearing a party hat, it’s unknown if the scenes will involve an actual party.

It’s not the only thing confirmed for the next Baldur’s Gate 3 update. One major addition will be a fix for a serious bug that’s been causing slowdowns for players in Act 3. A statement released to IGN detailed the exact problem. Following a fix in Patch 4 that prevented Scrying Eyes in Moonrise Towers from instantly calling guards on you when stealing, all acts of theft or vandalism remained in limbo in the game’s memory. As the player reaches Act 3, these acts become so stacked that it causes slowdown issues. This glitch and a problem with “Astarion’s little kisses” are among the issues addressed in the new patch.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 currently doesn’t have a release date, but Larian has confirmed that it will be including with the retail edition of the Xbox release. The release date of the Xbox version will be announced at The Game Awards 2023.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now for PC and PS5. An Xbox version is on its way soon.
