Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 has a release date. On July 13, 2021, people will have even more to do in the game. Specifically, this next update will add an Active Roll System and Background Goals for characters in Baldur’s Gate 3.
With the Active Roll system, you can influence any rolls you make. Your character can get different skills and spells to use. This might make it easier to pass checks that normally might not be able to be accomplished as a result of RNG. You’ll also be able to see your rolls happen.
As for the Baldur’s Gate 3 Background Goals, it means more side quests. When you create a character, you also choose what their background looks like. After Patch 5 kicks in, that will apply to all backgrounds. These extra quests will be secret and only kick in if you do something relevant to your background.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available via Early Access on PCs and Google Stadia, and Patch 5 will be out on July 13, 2021. There’s no official launch date for the full release yet. Patch 4 appeared back in February 2021. That update added the Druid class and over 1,500 changes and updates to improve the game.
