Announced last year at E3 for Google Stadia and PC, Baldur’s Gate 3 has gotten a new trailer that also reveals that the game might enter early access by August 2020. Alas, this is only a tentative window, as the move to working from home due to the COVID-19 lockdown may have delayed development.
Check out the trailer below:
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the long-awaited sequel to Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II. The game is being developed by Larian Studios, the developer behind recent western RPG hits like Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2, and will be an AAA production with fully voiced cinematic dialogue, co-op multiplayer, and gameplay based on 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons.
While Larian Studios did get affected by the lockdown and shift to work-from-home, they have been relatively successful in this regard, so they are able to reveal a possible August 2020 Early Access date. More info on Early Access will be revealed later on.
Apart from the above trailer, there is also a community update video that you can watch below:
The community update video focuses on changes made to the gameplay, in particular the combat system, since its last showing at PAX East. More gameplay is set to be shown off next week on June 18, 2020 at D&D Live 2020 here.
Baldur’s Gate III is in development for Google Stadia and PC.
