AYANEO announced its next Android handheld gaming device is called the Pocket EVO, and it already passed its funding goal on Indiegogo. As of time of writing, it passed $93,800 from over 160 people, ahead of the device’s expected mid-September 2024 launch event and November 2024 ship date.
The AYANEO Pocket EVO has a 1080p, 7” OLED screen, with a minimum 8GB ram and 129GB storage. It will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen 2 gaming platform processor, as well as an 8-core Kyro CPU and Adreno A32 GPU. It will support button mapping, turbo mode, and performance mode. AYASpace and AYA Home will be present for managing downloaded games and apps. Hall joysticks will be present. So will four-mode vibration, a turbo key, and performance mode options.
People will be able to get it in three color variants, which are Retro Power, Sky White, and Starry Black. However, the Retro Power one is a limited edition version. At its cheapest, the early bird price is $639 for the 24GB and 1TB model. At launch, that will go up to $799. The IGG price is $739 for that version.
On Indiegogo, the following tiers are available for different Sky White and Starry Black models.
- 8G with 128GB – $389 early bird price, $499 at launch.
- 12GB with 256GB – $459 early bird, $599 at launch.
- 16GB with 512GB – $529 early bird, $699 at launch.
- 16GB with 1TB – $589 early bird, $759 at launch.
AYANEO is known for its handhelds, in addition to remake lines of gaming devices. For example, one of its most recent releases the Steam Deck-like AYANEO Slide and AYANEO Air Pro.
The AYANEO OLED Pocket EVO launch event will be held in September 2024, and the Android gaming handheld will ship in early November 2024.
