In an interview with Famitsu, Atlus Director Naoto Hiraoka shared that the company has plans for Persona related events both in Japan and overseas. Additionally, the interview revealed that ATLUS will further invest in Vanillaware games and other Atlus IPs. The company is currently working on a variety of titles and hopes to “deliver some surprises” in the future. [Thanks, ryokutya2089 1, 2!]
Additionally, Hiraoka was quoted as saying that he would like to “announce some surprises outside of announcements related to the 25th anniversary of the Persona series.” However, information regarding these potential surprise announcements has yet to be shared. The interview also revealed that Atlus currently has a variety of titles under development that the company would like to deliver soon.
The interview reveals that a total of ten projects are currently in development. This includes projects involving Vanillaware and other collaborations with ATLUS. Five to six projects are being handled internally at Atlus. Updates regarding Project Re:Fantasy were shared as well. The development on the title is currently progressing slowly. More information regarding the mentioned Persona related events from Atlus will arrive at a later date.
In July 2021, Atlus opened a website to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Persona series. This website features a total of seven unannounced projects related to the series. Additionally, the website features a plethora of anniversary related merchandise. Atlus currently plans to announce the mentioned projects up until Autumn 2022. The first project’s announcement will arrive sometime in September 2021.
The mentioned merchandise includes keychains, acrylic standees, and commemorative t-shirts. These items are currently available to purchase through the official Atlus D SHOP.
