Earlier this year we saw that Atelier Ryza was close to becoming the best selling Atelier game, and now it is official with over 420,000 units in shipments and digital sales.
The information comes from Koei Tecmo’s latest financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2020. In the report, Koei Tecmo noted that Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout has extended its repeat sales and reached a milestone of 420,000 units in total shipments. Furthermore, this figure makes Atelier Ryza the best-selling Atelier game of all-time.
The previous best-selling Atelier title was Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book which reached 370,000 units on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PC. When Koei Tecmo previously shared Atelier Ryza‘s numbers earlier this year, the Gust RPG was at 350,000 units in worldwide sales. It not only moved the 20,000 it needed to become the best-seller but went ahead and moved around 50,000 units for good measure.
When Atelier Ryza released in Japan in September 2019, it had the strongest launch sales in the series’ history with over 150,000 units sold. At the time, Koei Tecmo said that the game also saw strong pre-orders numbers outside of Japan. In case you missed it last month, the publisher asked fans what features they would like to see in future Atelier games.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
