Gust shared the latest details for Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine, and we finally learned why Lulua needs to find her mother Rorona, and more on its synthesis system. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

The story starts out with Lulua receiving a notice letter for her mother, stating that the business license of Rorona’s atelier is soon going to expire. From there, Lulua starts off on a journey to find her mother and help keep her atelier running.

We also got new synthesis system details for “Awakening Effects.” These come from the hidden effects from synthesis materials. When synthesizing using these materials, you can create items with effects that aren’t normally included. For example, you can get an item with fire attributes to make a Luna Stone that has both fire and lightning attributes.

There are some synthesis items that can have added categories. For example, Awakening (Seasoning), Awakening (Neutralizer), and such. This allows for a wide range of synthesis possibilities.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland releases in Japan on March 20, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It’ll release in the West in Spring 2019 for PS4, Switch, and PC. In case you missed it, we recently got a look at Totori and Mimi.
