Gust recently revealed characters set to appear in Atelier Lulua starting with Sterkenburg “Sterk” Cranach and a couple new characters Manna and Stia. Here’s a first look from this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
[Update: Added official screenshots.]
Sterkenburg Cranach (CV: Jurota Kosugi)
A man who previously worked as a knight when Arland was still a kingdom. He’s currently the leader of a guard group that watches over Arland. He’s a strait-laced and serious person with a strong sense of discipline.
Maana (CV: Yui Kondo)
Maana is a girl who frequents the orphanage. She has an enlightened way of speaking beyond her years.
Stia (CV: Rie Kugimiya)
A girl who doesn’t show much emotion. She doesn’t seem to be able to catch subtleties of human emotion.
As previously detailed, the synthesis system will keep the base system from the Atelier games that fans are familiar with, but will add a few new features including Alchemy Components and Boost Items.
Each ingredient has elements such a ice, earth, fire, and electricity. When you go above certain elemental values of the Alchemy Components part, you get different outcomes. Boost Items, on the other hand, can only be used once during synthesis to affect the Alchemy Components and quality.
As for the battle system, you’ll fight using a party of five characters. More information on the battle system and special item-like icons shown on character portraits during battle, will be revealed next time.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland releases in Japan on March 20, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It’ll release in the West in Spring 2019 for PS4, Switch, and PC. Check our previous report for a look at its first trailer.
