Gust showcased the latest gameplay for Atelier Firis: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey during a NicoNico Live stream. The company recently uploaded some of the footage shown during the event.
The above video gives us a look at some of the event scenes, where we can watch Firis attempt to open the giant door that is between her and the outside world. She is also shown eagerly awaiting to hear more about the world on the other side from her sister, Liane, one of the few who are allowed out.
The next part shows how she meets Sophie… who seems to have busted her way through that door, not expecting to see any humans. We get to see Firis express more of her desire to leave the village and how others wouldn’t be able to understand just exactly how much she’d love to leave.
Firis explains that no matter how much she has longed to leave the village, it was never enough to open the door, but Sophie taught her how amazing alchemy can be, after she easily busted that door using alchemy. That’s where she got the idea that perhaps if she could learn some alchemy, she too will be able to leave the village.
The following parts show her first time in the outside world, alongside her sister Liane. Firis expresses nothing but excitement being outside with plenty of things out there to see as she looks forward to continue making her dreams come true.
The above video gives us a look at field exploration, where you can see Firis explore the land, gather items, and more.
Atelier Firis: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey is releasing in Japan on September 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
