After dropping some hints, Active Gaming Media has officially announced Astro Boy: Edge of Time. The collectible card game is a Kickstarter project that brings Osamu Tezuka’s characters together in a cyberpunk city floating outside space and time. With Astro Boy missing, players are tasked with saving the city by summoning iconic characters like Epsilon and Magma using a deck of cards.

The game is being executive produced by Makoto Tezuka (also known as Macoto Tezka). The characters are being redesigned by renowned veterans that include Suda51 and CyberConnect 2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama. Manga artist Hiroya Oku (Gantz), character designer Seiichiro Hosokawa (.hack//G.U.), and illustrators Satoshi Yoshioka (Snatcher, Policenauts), Nekoshowgun (Lollipop Chainsaw), and Hiroaki (King of Fighters, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin) round out the redesign team.

Music and sound for the game, which is already complete, has been crafted by the legendary artists Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) and Giorgio Moroder (Scarface, Top Gun).
