Ars Technica looks at the Playstation 3

I was surprised that the Ars crew had no problem getting a PS3 without having a pre-order. They were lucky enough to get theirs, but they don’t seem to be enjoying playing around with it. The seven page review of the system comes up with a simple conclusion, “I think my main problem with the PS3 is that philosophically, it’s a confused system. It doesn’t really know what it wants to do.” While it didn’t make a huge splash Ars Tehnica is hopeful about the system’s future. “In fact, I think we’ll see great things from the second generation of games from the PS3.” The future does look bright with Afrika, Metal Gear Solid 4 and White Knight Story. Then there is the PS3’s ace card Final Fantasy XIII, as long as that doesn’t go multiplatform fans of the series will probably get one long after the eBay hype dies down.
