Tencent’s Arena of Valor, the popular mobile MOBA that was also recently announced for Nintendo Switch, is now open for pre-registration in the US and Canada regions.
The pre-registration campaign will net players a limited skin for characters, and furthermore a Level 2 Arcana chest will be given to people who invite 5 friends who finish pre-registration. 108 gems and a double-EXP card will be given to everybody if there are 100,000 or more pre-registrations. The pre-registration campaign is currently only applicable to the mobile version of the game, while the announced Nintendo Switch version will launch later in 2018.
Tencent’s Arena of Valor, known in China as Glory of Kings, is currently the most-popular free download app for mobiles, and had a record of more than 50 million daily active users in 2016. The original version available in China uses a mix of Chinese historical people and mythical characters such as Lu Bu and the Bull Demon King (from Journey to the West), as well as crossover characters such as Nakoruru from the Samurai Spirits series. The Western version, Arena of Valor, swaps most of the characters for European folklore-inspired versions, and have crossovers with DC Comics characters instead.
Arena of Valor will be available in US and Canada for iPhone and Android in the near future.
