Last year we reported on an “Adventure Project” called XBlaze developed by Arc System Works, known for fighters such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. Their upcoming game won’t be part of their familiar territory, as Famitsu revealed it to be a visual novel game.
Here’s a brief introduction to Xblaze’s story: The main character, Touya Kagari, noticed a jingling sound coming from somewhere. As he followed the sound of the jingle, it led him to what seemed to be a gravely injured man, who was yelling at the top of his lungs. Before he knew it, this man began to assault him in a rage-induced manner.
Without even a moment to acknowledge the situation he was in, Kagari felt as if it was all over, until a sword-wielding young girl changed his fate.
Kagari is a second year student of class B. He has a very curious and gentle personality and goes out of his way to resolve any fights around him. He currently resides with the Himezuru family and works at a curry shop as a part-time job.
This week’s Famitsu issue also introduced other characters such the mysterious young girl, Es, who is Kagari’s classmate and happens to be the girl that saved Kagari, as well as Hinata Himezuru, a calm and house-chore loving second daughter of the Himezuru family, who is also Kagiri’s classmate. The long-haired Kuon Glamred Schtolheim and Amano Hokosakamei were also shown in this week’s magazine.
Arc System Works’ XBlaze is slated to be released on July 25 for PlayStation 3 and Vita.
