Viz Media has another Splatoon manga on the way. Hedeki Goto’s Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show will be released in English on July 14, 2020. The first volume will cost $9.99. It is filled with 4-koma comics starring new Inklings and is based upon Splatoon 2’s characters and designs. The cover shows its two new stars.
This marks the third time a manga series based on the games has been released. The first was the original Splatoon manga, which launched in 2016 and was subsequently picked up by Viz Media and began appearing in English in December 2017. The other 4-koma Splatoon comics appeared in The Art of Splatoon and The Art of Splatoon 2 when Darkhorse Comics localized them.
As for the original Splatoon manga series, its English volumes have continued to release at a steady pace. The ninth installment made its debut on May 12, 2020. According to Viz Media, its tenth volume will show up outside of Japan on September 8, 2020.
Splatoon is available for the Nintendo Wii U and Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch. Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show Volume 1 will launch on July 14, 2020. While the next entry has yet to be announced, the 2020 New Year’s Message for the series had a hidden message in it that said “SOS” and “Save our salmons.”
