Next week, Japan’s Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console gets an RPG that never made it to western shores—Konami’s Esper Dream. This is a top-down action RPG that has you playing as a boy that has been transported inside a book.

Esper Dream’s battles aren’t turn-based. Once you encounter an enemy, you’re taken to a separate battle screen like most JRPGs, but actions are carried out in real-time. You’re equipped with various firearms and use them to take enemies out, in addition to your ESP skills.

Esper Dream will be available for download on July 10th for 500 yen.
