As part of its Wonder Festival Summer 2024 announcements, Aniplex revealed a new collection of chibi NieR: Automata figures of 2B, 9S, A2, and a Machine Lifeform. All four appeared as unpainted prototypes on display at the event.
Here’s the official announcement. In the front, we can see A2, the Machine Lifeform, 9S, and 2B from left to right. Behind them is concept art of the characters standing in a ruined city. That is in color, to help provide an idea of how the final figures might look. Both 2B and 9S will appear without their visors in these depictions, so people can see their eyes.
These aren’t the only chibi versions of NieR: Automata characters appearing as figures. Sega also announced two Tiny Melties ones of 2B and 9S. They are designed to make the two YoRHa members look as though they are melting like ice cream. There are also a number of more realistic figures of characters like 2B in development and set to debut later in 2025.
The Aniplex NieR: Automata 2B, 9S, A2, and Machine Lifeform figures are in development. The anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll. The game is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
