Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sales in the UK Had It Topping the Charts

Preliminary data on Animal Crossing: New Horizons sales in one region has come in. The market research company Growth from Knowledge has released information going over the physical copies sold in the United Kingdom for March 15-21, 2020. Even though the latest entry in Nintendo’s series only released on March 20, 2020, it ended up taking the top spot. [Thanks, GamesIndustry.biz!]

While actual sales numbers weren’t shared for games, we do know how many physical copies of all games were sold in the UK during that week and GamesIndustry.biz shared some preliminary information on Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ sales. First, over 475,000 physical copies total were sold in that region. As for the specific game, it beat Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s launch numbers by three and a half times. It was also the UK’s biggest launch for a game that wasn’t divided into two variants, like Pokemon Sword and Shield.
