Angeal Joins FFVII Ever Crisis in The First Soldier Episode 2

Square Enix teased Episode 2 of The First Soldier storyline in FFVII Ever Crisis and confirmed we’ll see a younger version of Angeal Hewley debut when it launches. The first chapter debuts on October 16, 2024, and it seems he’ll be playable then.

The Angeal we’re familiar with in Crisis Core FFVII is already a SOLDIER 1st Class and is in his 20s. Like Sephiroth, this version of him is much younger and a new recruit. He also wields the Buster Sword that he eventually passes down to Zack and ends up in Cloud’s hands.

The trailer begins with an introduction to Wutai, where The First Soldier Episode 2 will take place in FFVII Ever Crisis. We get hints of Sephiroth in front of a massive fire. However, while he features prominently in this installment, it seems Angeal may be the star. We see him leading conversations in story segments. Also, this takes place before he and Sephiroth become friends, as the latter is cold to him. It seems we’ll actually control Angeal as we explore areas, as well as fight as him. The end of the teaser also suggests we’ll see Hojo make an appearance.
