When Monster Hunter Tri comes out next year you probably want to play it with a regular controller. Perhaps, the Classic Controller Pro which Nintendo has yet to confirm, but made an appearance at Nintendo’s media desk E3.
The Classic Controller Pro and it’s hand grips looks nice, but that’s not the only Classic Controller out there. Impress Watch has an excellent showcase of third party Classic Controllers like the Wireless ClaCon (short for Classic Controller) from U Game. The device comes with a dongle that you plug into the Wii remote, which cuts the cord.
Another unique solution is a PlayStation 2 controller adapter from Gametech. Plug this in your Wii remote and you can use a DualShock 2 pad as a Classic Controller… with turbo! That’s probably useless for Monster Hunter, but it could make the slew of Virtual Console shmups easier to get through.
